Russell Falls cascading through temperate rainforest in Mount Field National Park, Tasmania.
Russell Falls is a multi-tiered waterfall surrounded by cool temperate rainforest in Mount Field National Park. Water descends across broad horizontal ledges of dark rock framed by tree ferns, moss and dense forest, creating one of Tasmania's most recognisable waterfall scenes. The sheltered forest setting maintains lush vegetation throughout much of the year, while rainfall strongly influences the volume and character of the cascade.

Russell Falls is reached from the Mount Field National Park visitor area along a well-established forest trail. The approach is short and relatively easy, although wet conditions can make paths and viewing areas slippery. A valid Tasmania Parks Pass is required for vehicle entry to the national park.
