    Photography Notes

Suikerbosrand is strongest during sunrise and sunset when warm light reveals the contours of the Highveld landscape and creates long shadows across the grasslands. Telephoto lenses are useful for compressing distant ridges and isolating wildlife, while wide-angle lenses work particularly well at viewpoints overlooking the reserve's rolling hills. The scenic road network provides numerous opportunities to photograph changing conditions throughout the day.
