    Restrictions

Sandton is easily explored via public roads, pavements, shopping precincts and elevated viewpoints around the commercial district. Many photographic opportunities are accessible on foot, although drone use is heavily restricted within the urban environment.

    Photography Notes

Sandton is strongest during sunrise, sunset and blue hour when changing light conditions emphasise the geometry of the skyline. Telephoto lenses work well for compressing layers of towers and isolating landmark buildings such as The Leonardo, while wider lenses are effective for capturing architectural detail and the broader cityscape. Elevated viewpoints along Johannesburg's northern ridges provide some of the most dramatic perspectives of the district.
