Viðoy is a mountainous island in the northern Faroe Islands, characterised by steep coastal cliffs and narrow fjords. The island is sparsely populated, with small settlements connected by a single coastal road. Exposed to the North Atlantic, weather and light conditions change rapidly. Viðoy provides access to some of the northernmost landscapes in the archipelago.
